Kevin Hughes
MOROCCANOIL ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Kevin is an editorial hair stylist based in West Hollywood, CA. A Long Island native and one of 12 children in a close-knit family, Kevin began his career studying fashion buying and merchandising. He went on to cosmetology school in New York, where he was mentored by some of the biggest names in the business, including Danilo, Robert Vetica and Peter Gray. His work has graced the pages of Vogue Beauty, Elle, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar and L’Official . Backstage at Fashion Week, Kevin has worked with top designers like Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier, Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera and Altuzarra. He has also styled numerous celebrities such as Emily Blunt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rosie Huntington- Whiteley, Jasmine Sanders and Bill Paxton. In 2011 Moroccanoil approached Kevin to become a National Educator for the company. Through his hard work and dedication Kevin became a Global Ambassador/Spokesperson for the brand, traveling the globe to share the latest Moroccanoil product news and brand strategies. He was recently promoted again, to Moroccanoil Artistic Director. Kevin’s energy and passion for teaching and empowering others is contagious, and he loves making every client look and feel their absolute best. In his work and life, he takes inspiration from Maya Angelou’s famous words: “People will forget what you said. They will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.”

“I’M INSPIRED BY SEEING THE BEAUTY THAT I CAN BRING OUT IN PEOPLE. IT’S WHAT MOTIVATES ME TO LEARN CREATIVE NEW WAYS TO HELP THE CLIENT ACHIEVE THE LOOK THEY WANT.”
Peter Beckett
Moroccanoil Global Ambassador

Peter Beckett began his career in Brisbane with TONI&GUY where he quickly progressed to Art Director and Educator, facilitating education programs throughout Australia. He also was involved in hair expos including Salon International as a member of the Australian FAME Team.

Peter relocated to London in 2005 to join luxury independent salon Brooks & Brooks as Lead Art Director and Educator, taking on a key role in their education and seminar programs.

In the session styling world, Peter assisted Raphael Salley and worked alongside some of the world’s top photographers. In this space, he worked with top models including Poppy Delevingne, Joan Smalls and Behati Prinsloo, among others. While living in London, Peter discovered Moroccanoil and was drawn to the brand’s innovative approach to argan oil-infused hair care and styling.

Peter’s editorial work has graced the pages of Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, InStyle, Tatler and more. He has worked on global campaigns for Roberto Cavalli, Charlotte Olympia, Levi’s, Selfridges, Dove and Britain’s Next Top Model. On the runway, Peter has styled hair at London and Australia Fashion Weeks for Burberry, J.W. Anderson, Christopher Kane, Alexander McQueen and Gucci. Celebrity clients have included Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, Nicole Scherzinger, Natalie Dormer, Demi Lovato, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Atomic Kitten and The Sugababes.

Having represented a number of big brands, including a role as UK Style Director for Braun Haircare and PR Ambassador for Batiste and Head & Shoulders, Peter has made it a point to give back to those in need. He has represented The Royal Mencap Society, styling hair for disabled children.

His eclectic portfolio speaks to his adaptability and drive as a stylist. “Looking for the next adventure excites me in my life and work; not knowing what’s around the corner is what inspires me,” Peter says. His biggest inspiration is closer to home: “I’m motivated to do the best I can so that my daughter grows up proud of me.”

In 2015, Peter relocated to Australia with his family to further his hair styling career in his home country. Peter is a passionate Moroccanoil Ambassador. “I love the brand because it’s honest,” he says. “It does exactly what it promises to do, and it sums up the kind of work I do as a stylist—beautiful and luxurious with a bit of sex appeal.”

“Traveling the globe creating cool, beautiful hair while meeting new friends is the best job in the world!”
