She is the owner of the The Curlective in Bloomfield, New Jersey, which has been recognized by Essence Magazine as a Standout Salon due to her talent as a colorist and the outstanding experience she provides for her clients. Her work has been featured in the Bavity x Sephora beauty campaign, Essence Fest virtual beauty summit 2021, Jet magazine, and Yahoo Beauty.

Her professional approach aligns perfectly with the Moroccanoil focus on nourished, healthy-looking hair. “I’m passionate about haircare because it’s the foundation of beautiful styling,” she says. “Healthy hair shines and bounces.” She first fell in love with Moroccanoil Treatment, then with the entire product line, because of “how well every product works to create a healthier canvas.”

Barri is excited to work with Moroccanoil as the brand expands both its Professional Haircolor Collection and its education platform, as a part of a supportive community of professionals. “I make a point to surround myself with those who inspire and support me wholeheartedly,” she says, “I’m motivated by the team around me.”

Tatiana’s love for hairstyling started when she was growing up. Whenever the women in her family got their hair done, “the confidence that radiated from them was infectious,” she recalls. “I just knew I had to be part of that.”

Once she went pro, she quickly found her specialty. “After seeing the need for a stylist who focuses on healthy haircare and haircoloring practices, I decided to make that my niche,” she says. It’s no surprise that she fell in love with the argan oil-infused products of Moroccanoil. “It’s amazing to have a product line that caters to the varying hair types and textures I service,” she says.

In her teaching and her life, Tatiana believes empathy is key. “We all have a different journey in life,” she says. “So have grace with yourself when embarking upon new experiences, and extend that to others.”
