“I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT EACH PERSON ON THE PLANET IS UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL, AND IT IS MY GREAT PLEASURE TO BRING THAT OUT!”

While working as a salon receptionist as a student, Liza began to appreciate the thoughtfulness, talent and perception that it took to be a great hairdresser. Now a salon owner herself, what began as a love for the art turned into a passion for the person wearing the hairstyle. “As an educator I am very passionate about sharing and motivating others to be their very best, and doing everything I can to elevate this wonderful industry,” she shares.

Liza’s focus is on clients’ relationship with their hair after they leave the salon: “It’s not only about making people look great, but feel amazing…and providing them with the right hair care to make it work every day!” She adds, “Moroccanoil products are phenomenal, and my salon has long supported them. I feel a deep connection to innovators, and what the brand has done to change the industry speaks a lot to the mindset of the company.” With experience in the worlds of print, runway, film and celebrity styling, Liza brings a unique point of view to any project from conception to execution. As a dedicated and dynamic artist, Liza has enjoyed many accomplishments, including multiple North American Hairstyling Award (NAHA) nominations. Her ingenuity has earned her a vast editorial styling portfolio that includes work in industry and fashion magazines such as Modern Salon, American Salon, Vibra, Estetica, Vogue Italia, Dark Beauty, Canadian Hairdresser and more.

AS AN ARTIST TRULY FOCUSED ON SUITABILITY, EVERYTHING THAT I DO MUST BE AESTHETICALLY PLEASING, WITH PIECES THAT FIT PERFECTLY AS A WHOLE.

Kelli brings over 15 years of experience to the beauty industry. She has developed amazing techniques through countless hours of education and hands-on experience, with her extensive training at Bumble and Bumble forming the backbone of her career.

From Cynthia Rowley and Catherine Malandrino to Rachel Zoe and Heatherette, Kelli’s hair designs have been mainstays at New York Fashion Week. She has also worked on video sets and editorial shoots with stylists Laurent Philippon, Jimmy Paul, Niki-Ann Levi and more. Over the years, Kelli has been able to share her expertise through her own courses, which she has developed for stylists and salons all over the New York metropolitan area. Kelli’s energetic personality, passion for the industry and perseverance for success have made her the incredible stylist and educator that she is today. Kelli joined Moroccanoil because of her (and her clients’!) love for the products, which she considers excellent resources for transforming one’s look. With Moroccanoil, her tools glide on hair easier for an effortless styling experience. “That moment when a person sees their new look for the first time, I know that at that moment I had a part in making them feel beautiful. Their confidence level goes up and you just made someone’s day. That’s the reason why I love my career every day!”

WHEN YOU STOP LEARNING, YOU STOP GROWING.

Kelly Bowen grew up in the hair industry; her mother, a stylist and salon owner, influenced her journey from the beginning. “I was that friend who did everyone’s hair and makeup for school dances and athletic events,” she remembers, “and I was having such a blast. I didn’t want it to end!”

Kelly started her career in 2004 at the esteemed Spalon Montage in the Twin Cities. She completed their apprentice program that year and became an Education Director in 2008, facilitating education and working with apprentices. Kelly was also a part of the Sebastian Design Team from 2008 to 2013. With mentorship from world-renowned artists such as The Doves, Nick Arrojo, Nick Berardi, Kevin Murphy, Phillip Wilson and Oribe, Kelly has styled hair backstage at New York Fashion Week and has been published in Behind the Chair and Beauty Launchpad. In 2009, she won the Gold Colorist Award in the US Wella Trendvision contest and proceeded to compete internationally in Berlin, Germany. “I love meeting new people, seeing new places and gathering inspiration,” Kelly shares. Her inspiration comes from all over: the red carpet, other hairdressers and artists and her clients, as well the blogs, fashionistas and product junkies who help set trends and push boundaries. “Most of all,” she adds, “I love being an artist! First and foremost, that’s who I am, and using hair as my medium I am able to be an architect, a painter, a sculptor and a designer every day!” Kelly has always aspired to become an educator. Motivated by the education directors at her salon who helped her hone her craft, as well as top stylists and educators who have been mentors, she decided to join Moroccanoil because of Co-founder Carmen Tal’s mission for the brand—authenticity, effectiveness and ease of use. “I’m drawn to the integrity and passion of the company, and everyone who is a part of it,” she says. “The Moroccanoil image is the core of who I am as an artist, as my passion is creating healthy, beautiful hair that is sophisticated and effortless.”
