Even before Deborah Camacho officially joined the hair industry, she understood the needs of different hair types and textures from styling her friends and family. “My mother has very straight, thin hair, while my sister has super coily hair,” she recalls. "I learned very quickly that curly hair is not to be stretched like straight hair when you cut it."

She enrolled in beauty school while living in Mexico at age 24 and hasn’t looked back. In her two decades as a stylist, colorist, and educator, Deborah Camacho has seen her work featured in the
magazines Estilos and Alta Peluqueria, written a beauty column, and served as lead hairstylist for a TV show in Mexico.

A specialist in dry cutting and color correction, Deborah is inspired by the creative possibilities she finds behind the chair. “The huge range of artistic potential to be explored is never-ending.”

She was drawn to Moroccanoil by the brand’s elegant aesthetic, the effectiveness of the products, and the positive attitude exuded by members of the Education Team—especially VP of Artistry Kevin Hughes and Global Creative Director Antonio Corral Calero. “They are some of the most talented but also down-to-earth, humble, and patient artists and educators,” she says. That positivity fuels her own work as an educator. “The passion I perceive in others ignites my own!”
